What is a Comprehensive Evaluation?
Here at Autism Spectrum Diagnostics and Consulting, we aim to provide our clients and their families with a comprehensive and tailored evaluation that can provide answers to questions for clients, families, and their providers. The specialists within our practice all have extensive training and expertise in evaluating and working with individuals on the autism spectrum across the life-span. We utilize the gold standard assessments in the autism field including the Autism Diagnostic Interview-Revised (ADI-R) and the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule, Second Edition (ADOS-2) in order to evaluate and determine if a child or adult's history and clinical presentation is consistent with an autism spectrum disorder diagnosis. We also conduct psychoeducational and neuropsychological evaluations that provide information about general intellectual abilities, such as language, attention, memory, and motor skills, as well as performance in the key areas of academics, such as reading, writing, spelling, and math. We will also ask parents and teachers to complete questionnaires to gather information about the individual's social, emotional, and behavioral functioning. Following the completion of the evaluation, a report describing all of the testing results is generated and recommendations specific to the individual's needs are provided.
